Le Mv Byamwezi, un bateau Burundais qui revenait de Mpulungu en Nzambie pour se rendre à Bujumbura avec à son bord 1600 tones de Klinker a chaviré aux larges de la Côte Tanzanienne sur le lac Tanganyika..
En effet, au niveau de la localité de Kirando en Tanzanie, le bateau a été sérieusement secoué par un vent violent et il a alors pris de l’eau jusqu’à chavirer.
Pendant ce temps selon notre source qui confirme l’information, 13 membres de l’équipage dont Maurice, le capitaine du navire de nationalité Congolaise ont tous été repêchés, tandis que le navire lui s’est enfoncé dans les profondeurs.
Selon le Commissaire lacustre d’Uvira, il n’y a aucun espoir de retrouver le bateau ainsi que toute sa cargaison.
